Skullduggery In High Places

The final episode of RUBICON season 1 aired last night. I’ve been watching every week since finding out about it from my good friend JD. The main character is Will Travers, an intelligence analyst at a firm called API (American Policy Institute) located  in a  clandestine building in lower Manhattan with only a plaque out front. Will is a team leader with a knack for recognizing patterns. He is drawn in over his head after his father-in-law, also an analyst at API, is killed under shady circumstances after discovering a pattern in the crosswords of several of the city’s newspapers one morning. The deeper Will digs, the more he discovers. The show is very understated and quick, so a lot of information is passed along with just a few words.

Veteran actors Miranda Richardson, Arliss Howard and Peter Gerety make RUBICON feel like you’re watching a really good film every week. I was glad to read that the show has been renewed for another season. It’s well worth a view.

The opening credits are also very impressive. See below.
